Hadith on Sins: We restrained ourselves and had hope for the people of major sins

Ibn Umar reported: We would refrain from seeking forgiveness for the people of great sins until we heard our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say, “Verily, I have saved my intercession for the people of great sins among my nation for the Day of Resurrection.” So we restrained much of what was in ourselves and we had hope for them.
