As-Suyuti on Law: There is no condemnation for Muslims who follow different scholarly opinions

As-Suyuti said, “A principle of Islamic law states that there is no condemnation of others in matters of scholarly disagreement. Rather, there is only condemnation in matters upon which all the scholars have agreed.”

Ibn Taymiyyah said, “Whoever acts according to the opinions of scholars in matters of juristic discretion (ijtihad) should not be condemned or boycotted. Whoever acts according to one of two different opinions should not be condemned for it.”

قال السيوطي الْقَاعِدَةُ (في الفقه) لَا يُنْكَرُ الْمُخْتَلَفُ فِيهِ وَإِنَّمَا يُنْكَرُ الْمُجْمَعُ عَلَيْهِ
2/35 الْأَشْبَاه وَالنَّظَائِر الْكِتَابُ الثَّانِي فِي قَوَاعِدَ كُلِّيَّة يَتَخَرَّجُ عَلَيْهَا مَا لَا يَنْحَصِرُ مِنْ الصُّوَرِ الْجُزْئِيَّةِ
قال ابن تيمية مَسَائِلُ الِاجْتِهَادِ مَنْ عَمِلَ فِيهَا بِقَوْلِ بَعْضِ الْعُلَمَاءِ لَمْ يُنْكَرْ عَلَيْهِ وَلَمْ يُهْجَرْ وَمَنْ عَمِلَ بِأَحَدِ الْقَوْلَيْنِ لَمْ يُنْكَرْ عَلَيْهِ
