Abu Darda on Reflection: Spiritual contemplation for an hour is better than night prayer

Umm Darda reported: Abu Darda, may Allah be pleased with them both, said, “True reflection for an hour is better than prayer at night.”

Hasan Al-Basri, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “No poverty is worse than ignorance, no wealth is better than reason, no worship is like contemplation, no goodness is like good character, and no devotion is like restraint.”
